WORLD BOOK DAY SHORT STORIES COMPETITION

 

INSTRUCTIONS

 

To write a story with 1000-1200 words, using the opening detailed below. 

No changes to the order are permitted.

 

This must be done on a Word document and e mailed to ridgewoodlibrarydickson@googlemail.com by no later than 4 November 2008.  Please ensure you write your Name and Form and check the number of words.

 

“As the cry of the wolf echoed over the forest, the fire went out and Beck was left in darkness.  He reached for his knife, hurriedly shoved it inside his backpack and started running….”  

 

Twenty winners, from all schools entered, will be chosen and published in a final anthology for World Book Day - 5 March 2009.

Challenge All Year 7 Pupils

Design a poster to advertise your school library to new Ridgewood pupils.

 

Include as much information as you can and illustrate it.  You can use a computer or draw it yourself.

 

There will be a prize for the best one!
